A Blogging Strategy For A Financial Services Firm

This Financial Services firm is a boutique firm – specializing in advising clients on technology and new types of companies. Their services include porfolio management, consulting and creating new, original research analysis for their clients.   Their clientele includes some of the largest names on Wall Street.

Challenge:

Servicing this firm’s level of clientele – requires an easy and lightning fast capability in order to produce timely and accurate analysis on the companies they cover.

The team needed a new blog – available only to their clientele – and one which would enable their team to quickly and easily produce quality analysis from anywhere in the world – including from their mobile devices.

This new blogging strategy would also have to be plugged into a more public blog – which would be focused on producing more general content – and attract new clients into the firm.

Execution:

The first phase was to work directly with the financial services team to understand how the clients would be utilizing the client-only blog.  Additionally, the existing “client-only” blog would need to be migrated off of an antiquated platform – and into the new WordPress platform.

Then, simultaneously, we established a blogging strategy for the public blog – utilizing another WordPress implementation.

The result was:

A dedicated client-only blog – available to the team to update from anywhere in the world.    Adding instant access to more than 700 client users.

A newly re-designed public blog – also available to the team – and which can syndicate content into the client-only blog if desired.

Measuring Success:

  • A new user interface makes it much easier to find the content that users are looking for.
  • Increase In Web Traffic to the client-only blog by more than 400%
  • Explosive Web site traffic increase of 110% because of new SEO optimized public blog
