The company was started in December of 2009 by Robert Rose, an author and veteran marketing and digital media consultant with more than 15 years of experience, and a proven track record of helping businesses develop successful Web content and Web site marketing strategies.

We believe in the idea of alchemy so much it’s built into everything we do. The Big Blue Moose logo is a modern adaptation of “squaring of the circle” or The Philosopher’s Stone – a legendary alchemical substance, capable of turning base metals into gold.  And our blog  – The Mythic Marketer focuses on the idea of how marketers can tell creative, fulfilling and ultimately convincing stories that drive business success.

What we believe about successful marketing:

  • Marketing is story-driven not data driven. It’s your story – and sometimes you need help to tell it. Marketing is still driven by a balance of compelling content, an engaging brand and a trusted relationship. Data is important; but well honed analytics simply provide the insight that helps us improve engagement.
  • Differentiating means telling a different story – not the same one incrementally better . You now have the opportunity to develop a trusted relationship – and one that differentiates you from your competition.  This means finding the “unique you” – and not just finding the one extra feature that makes you better than your competition.
  • Technology is the easy part. The internet and enabling technologies make it easier than ever for you and your customer to have a conversation. But your story – your strategy – your plan is what drives the need for technology. Not the other way around.
  • You must have permission to fail. Today’s marketing is an ever-continuing process of small, iterative experiments that help us to continually improve engagement with our customers.
  • It’s all Possible. We know that if you believe – it can happen. We want to help you bring the unique “you” to your marketing process.
